Yosemite National Park Area
I found a spot between Glacier Point and Wabash point where there were only a few people. Set up my chair and my water supply and tripod etc… and waited for several hours for this to play out…. first sun, then sunsetting, setting, setting, the finality, then stars popped out…. Now you get to see it all in one shot…. you can get prints of it at departing souls
It’s a nice stroll… barely an elevation gain and a paved “trail”. Go early, eat a wonderful breakfast at the Ahwahnee Hotel, or go late… avoid the bus loads of people even in January.
It’s about 7:08AM in January. This entry is about the first 120 minutes of light in Yosemite.
Being the lazy bastard my friends know me to be, I kind of like winter because the best photo time of day (sunrise) comes late in the morning… even at 5000 feet elevation.
- Before the sun hits the first rock. The photographer’s ghetto fills with the hopeful.
